Train Sets – West Virginia, Wisconsin & Wyoming Model Railroad Clubs

Well after several weeks of posts and covering the different states providing a list of the model railroad clubs that can be found, we have finally reached the finale. This is the last post in the series and will cover all of the clubs that collect the various train scales in the states of West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming.

West Virginia

St. Albans Chesapeake and Ohio Modelers - The St. Albans Chesapeake and Ohio Modelers Inc. is an organization made up of people who want to share the rich history of the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad in the St. Albans, West Virginia area using scale models. Our members enjoy modeling the C & O, as well as Chessie System, CSX and other railroads connected with the C & O.

Wisconsin

Tri-County Model Railroad Club - This is a fairly new club that is operating out of Union Grove, Wisconsin by the railroad tracks.
Cedar Creek Central Railroad Club - The Cedar Creek Central Railroad Club was started in 1995. The club's primary mission was to build an indoors HO Scale layout, an outdoors G Scale layout and an 8X8 Ntrak layout among other projects.
Lionel Railroad Club - The Lionel RR Club was founded by Jerry Brettschneider, in January 1947, during a huge snow storm, that shut the city of Milwaukee down for a couple of days. Jerry and five of his neighborhood friends started the club, as a means to pass the time, during this storm. This makes the club the second oldest club in the state of Wisconsin.
Central Wisconsin Model Railroaders - The club serves to bring together railroad modelers and people with related interests by providing a regular meeting place and schedule of activities to enhance participation in the hobby.
Paper Valley Model Railroad Club - This club is open to the public for viewing their layouts on non-meeting nights and are located in Kaukauna.

Wyoming

Wyoming is another state where I was unable to find any sites for model railroading clubs. If you know of any leave a comment please.

I hope that you have enjoyed these posts and got some benefit from them. Model railroad clubs are a great place to go if you're a beginning collector of model trains or if you're a seasoned veteran. Many of these clubs hold a wealth of knowledge, tips and even training on how to setup model train displays.

A lot of the clubs that have been listed these past few weeks have even gone as far as to make their websites very informative, provide pictures of various projects, etc. So be sure to check them out to get additional tips on building your world!!

Model Train Sets Clubs – Vermont, Virginia & Washington

Thanks for continuing to follow us as we list clubs in all of the states for model railroad enthusiasts. The goal of this and all of the previous posts on clubs for those who love to collect Lionel trains as well as all of the numerous other types of train sets that can be found in the market. Here is the latest list of clubs:

Vermont

North Western Vermont Model Railroad Association - The NWV was formed on January 1, 2008 by model railroaders with the purpose and goal of preserving and teaching the art and craft of model railroading. For 30 years various groups of modelers have been meeting and creating a model railroad empire in Colchester and then Essex Junction.

Virginia

Piedmont Railroaders - The Piedmont Railroaders was founded In Warrenton, Virginia in February 1995 as an organization for railroad enthusiasts of all ages, and to provide a place where the members could share their individual interests in railroading.
Northern Virginia Model Railroaders - The NVMR is a HO scale model railroad layout that is on permanent display at the Vienna station. The club models a small railroad, the Western North Carolina, set in the 1950's. The club hosts open houses, 10 times a year, where the public is welcome to come and see trains running. Admission is free but donations are always appreciated.

Washington

United Northwest Model Railroad Club - The United Northwest Model Railroad Club is a Seattle, WA-based non-profit, 100% volunteer group that seeks to better our community and promote the hobby of model railroading. The layout is N scale (1:160). An N scale locomotive would have to be magnified 160 times to equal the real thing.
Tri-City Model Railroaders - In addition to a permanent club layout, and a portable modular layout, club members have layouts from N to Garden, many with completed scenery.
Pacific Northwest Division of the Toy Train Operating Society - The club is a diverse organization of toy train collectors and operators in Oregon and Washington who meet regularly to share our knowledge, foster friendships, and-of course-run our trains. Though most members concentrate on "O" gauge trains, many members collect several different gauges.
Puget Sound Model Railroad Engineers - PSMRE is a non-profit club, whose charter is to build, maintain and operate a world-class HO (1:87) model, featuring highlights of the Tacoma area during the 1950's. This is a 1700 sq. ft. model railroad exhibit and club layout, and mainline construction is complete.
Mt Rainier N-Scale - Mount Rainier N-Scale is an N-Trak Modular model railroad club, with a history going back to the early 1990s. The members model many roads, but the general theme of the layout is the railroads and beautiful scenery of western Washington State, where they live.

The next post on model railroad clubs will cover West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming. It will also be the final post in this series on clubs for model railroad enthusiasts in all of the states in the country.
